Can I make my own appointment?
You are welcome to make your own appointment but all MRI studies require an order from a physician.  You can bring the written order in at the time of your appointment or have your physician fax it to us. Many times your physician will call and schedule the appointment for you.

Do I need preauthorization from my
health insurance plan?
Some plans do require preauthorization. Check with your carrier to see if this is necessary.
 
I don’t have medical insurance.
How much will my exam cost?
Mid America Imaging offers discounted plans to patients who do not have health insurance. Please call our office for details.
 
What do I need to bring with me
the day of my exam?
Bring a photo ID and your complete insurance information including your insurance card, ID and group number.
Bring the written order from your physician and any prior imaging studies, images and reports, of the area you are having imaged.
 
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable metal-free clothing. You may be asked to change into a patient gown and you will need to remove all jewelry and metal objects. Lockers are available for personal belongings.
 
Can I take medication and eat
prior to my exam?
You can eat, drink and take all medication as normal unless you are instructed otherwise.

When will my doctor receive my results?
The results will be faxed to your physician within 24-48 hours of your exam.
